Today is a good day to stay home and with all the schools closed, it's a great day to bake a pie with your kids...or for yourself. Why a pie you ask? Because today is Pi Day (3/14) and a day to honor the mathematical constant pi, 3.14592653, etc. So let's celebrate pi by baking a pie.

I've been doing more of my own cooking (I know, about time) but I'm not getting any better. My specialties are still take-out, drive-thru, microwave and the "Whoops, We Baked Too Much" rack at my local grocery store.

I knew that today was going to be Pi (pie) day so I thought that I would go to the store and get what I needed to bake a pie. GODWINK! The "Whoops" rack had Whoopie pies on it and Whoopie pie counts.

Pie Recipes

If I told everyone that I was baking a pie, first they wouldn't believe me and second if I said that I was making whoopie, they might get the wrong impression. I can't cook, bake, or grill a pie but I bet that you can. Here are 30 pie recipes for you to choose from. You can thank me later by giving me a piece of your pie. I'm not a cook but I've been known to tell jokes, so here are a few Pi jokes on Pi day.

Pi Jokes

What do you get when you take the sun and divide its circumference by its diameter? Pi in the sky.

Why shouldn't you eat too much pi? You’ll end up with a big circumference.

Why did Pi fail its driving test? Because it didn't know when to stop.

Why should you never start talking to pi at a party? Because it just goes on forever.

Do the jokes get any better? I'll let you decide?

Ways To Celebrate Pi Day

If you're not in the mood to cook or don't have the time to bake a pie, you could eat food that starts in pi including  pickles, pizza, pickles and pickled "anything." No good? How about eating food that's in a circular shape like pancakes (for breakfast) or cookies (all day long).
