Free Fishing Weekend Coming Up in February

New York is encouraging residents to try ice fishing this winter and officials are offering a change to try the sport at no cost. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation designated the weekend of February 15 and 16 as a free fishing weekend so those who have never tried it, won’t need to get a license first. The free weekend is also open to experienced ice fishers. Get more information at dec.ny.gov.
