We all know George Strait as the King of Country Music, but could he also be the king of tequila. A few years back George Strait launched his own line of tequila name, Codigo 1530. Codigo 1530 base tequila comes in three flavors, Blanco, Rosa, and Respasado. There are other flavors and varieties but we will get to those in a minute.

Let's get to George Strait's go-to margarita recipe, The Ranch Margarita:

2 Oz of Código 1530 Blanco Tequila
.5 Oz of Triple Sec
1 Oz of Lime Juice
.5 Oz of Agave Nectar

Not only does Codigo come in blanco, rosa, and reposado, you can also enjoy Anejo and Origen.

There are special edition flavors that range from $75.00 to $3,500.00. Codigo 1530 actually has the most expensive tequila on the market. Codigo 1530 13 year aged Anejo runs $3,5000. This is a very limited edition, only 350 bottles have been made. What makes this so special? Here is what makes up this tequila:

At our dedicated production distillery, we use only the finest local inputs of fully ripe agave, volcanic rock-filtered water, and no other sugars, colors, flavorings, or additives.

Our decadent, rare añejo yields flavor profiles of sweet vanilla from our fine French Oak Cabernet wine barrels, followed by a whiff of cocoa powder & cinnamon. A lingering taste of earthy peat and exotic spices follows, finishing with a complex and balanced bouquet of rich scents and flavors.

Handcrafted in Mexico by skilled artisans, our glass crystal bottle accentuates the rich hues of our aged tequila. The sustainably sourced and locally fabricated wooden box is laser etched to reveal the details of this special añejo. It has a clear front sliding door, with our cross logo pattern etched into the side panels.

During quarantine, George did what a lot of people did, drink! He shared on social media:

“When I’m under quarantine, which I am quite a bit, these times are a little more serious than most but I can always count on Codigo 1530 to get me through it.”
