Yesterday to celebrate Father's Day, My husband and I went to see the Fenimore Art Museum's "Herb Ritts: The Rock Portraits" exhibit.  Herb Ritts was an iconic American fashion photographer who became famous for his portraits, especially black and whites of celebrities, models, and other cultural figures throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

Sadly, Ritts died of complications from AIDS in 2002 at the age of 50, but the work he left behind for us all to enjoy is just incredible and much of it, is on display at the Fenimore right now through September 2.

I was amazed at how many of Ritts' photographs I easily recognized!  The exhibit is fantastic and features quite a number of famous music artists.  For those of us who grew up in the 1980's, it's especially enjoyable since it's such a walk down that teenage memory lane of music loved.  Below is a taste of some of my favorite Herb Ritt photos and items on display at the exhibit.  The Herb Ritts Exhibit is a "must see" for any pop/rock music lover!
