Local Vaccine Update From Delaware County Public Health
Delaware County Public Health (DCPH) officials continue to update area residents on the availability of the COVID-19 vaccine and have released a video along with additional information.
DCPH says that vaccination sites request vaccines every week but due to limited amounts available, there is no guarantee that the request will be filled. Watch the video to find out more...
DCPH says that the amount of vaccine NY State Dept. of Health receives to distribute to all New York residents is based upon the allocation made to our state by the federal government. NYSDOH then determines state allocations to providers and entities who have enrolled to administer vaccine. New York State Department of Health is directing vaccination sites/clinics/health care providers to adhere to vaccine prioritization which began on February 15.
DCPH says they will continue to vaccinate 1B essential workers and beginning this week (2/15 start) will be vaccinating people 65 and older with comorbidities. People over the age 65 can call Office for the Aging at 607-832-5750 to schedule an appointment at a Public Health Clinic. In addition, want people 65 and older to know that vaccine will continue to be available (limited supply) for people over 65 at pharmacies and NY State mass vaccination sites.
