OK, if your trophy is partying with a country star more than you are and you're a former NFL quarterback, something is wrong. We all know that trophies really can't get after it but for a good cause, they can certainly be used to have some fun. One former New York Jets quarterback and former Heisman Trophy winner is using his collegiate excellence hardware to raise money for good causes.

According to Jacklyn Hendricks of nypost.com, former University of Florida stand-out QB, Tim Tebow told “The Dan Patrick Show,” that he auctions off his Heisman Trophy every year. Apparently, Tebow has done this for the last 8 trips around the sun. The former Gator won college sports top award in 2007. Now he lets others hang on to the custom bronze statue to raise some cash for charities. One recipient of the trophy may have made Tebow rethink his generosity, well, not really.

Tebow told the show hosts, “Probably the last eight, nine years, every year or every six months, I’ve used it to auction off for a charity for people to keep in their homes, use it as something they can brag about. Luke Bryan, him and his wife, Caroline, who are so sweet, they’re a big part of some nonprofits and we work together, and so he and his wife won it. Then, leading up to Florida-Georgia, ’cause he’s such a Georgia fan, he would put a Georgia jersey on it, he would put peanut butter all over it, let his dog lick it off, he would do all sorts of stuff, and I was like, ‘This isn’t fair,”

The cool thing about Tebow? He wasn't about to take that disrespect of his hardware and his precious Gators sitting down. “I worked with his wife to get one of his CMA Artist of the Year Awards, which is kind of a unique-looking award, so, I started getting that and sending him videos of me using it as a sparkling water opener or a jack for a car, being able to lift it up,” said the former Gang Green quarterback. This is a fantastic idea. I hope that more stars do things like this to raise money for good causes. Tim Tebow was certainly not the best NFL quarterback but no one can ever take argue what great person he is.
