A police standoff Wednesday at a Deposit home resulted in a man being killed by officers. According to New York State Police, it happened at a Route 8 home where a burglary was initially reported but once officers arrived, the suspect identified as 34-year-old Clint Stevens of Binghamton, was armed with a long gun, inside the residence of his parents, who were not at home.

Stevens admitted to being under the influence of methamphetamine and visibly used more during negotiations with officers.  Officers attempted to get Stevens to surrender his weapons for nearly six hours, and when Stevens finally emerged from the residence holding two guns, one pointed outward, aimed at officers, that’s when he was shot and killed. An investigation is underway.
