Margaret Thatcher, Britain's longest serving Prime Minister of the 20th-century, 1979-1987, has died.  The first woman Prime Minister was noted for her close relationship with President Ronald Reagan.

Ms. Thatcher was a key player on the world stage throughout the 1980s.  In 1991 she was awarded the Medal of Freedom, America's highest civilian award, by then U.S. president George H.W. Bush.

Meryl Streep played Margaret Thatcher in the acclaimed 2011 film, "Iron Lady."
