New York State Says: “No Sports Betting Soon”

New York residents will not be able to bet on sporting events any time soon now that the state legislature recessed its 2018 session without passing a measure to set up the gambling operations. Bills were introduced in both the Assembly and House but neither one made it to the floor for a vote. There is a possibility the state Gaming Commission could authorize sports betting at four state-run upstate casinos. There’s been no official word on if or when that would happen.
