The once-abandoned Catskill Game Farm has a new life after new owners bought the property back in November 2020. Its new life includes tents for glamping and it will operate as an inn.

The Catskill Game Farm opened in the 1930s and was the largest privately owned zoo in the country. Tens of millions of visitors wandered the property checking out the exotic animals until it closed in 2006. At that point, it was pretty much abandoned and forgotten about until it was purchased in 2012 by a couple that wanted to turn it into an Inn. They did a lot of work and made a bunch of improvements, but last year decided to put it up for sale for $2 million.

In November the Catskill Game Farm was sold to Yonkers businessman Sidney Blauner and a group of investors for just under the $2 million asking price. They have very quickly made some changes, added glamping tents, and have reopened as the Old Game Farm. They are open now and have already had visitors stay at the five-room inn as well as camping in the glamping tents. In addition, visitors can explore the old farm, hike, and bike on the trails that criss-cross the 200-acre property. There is even talk of bringing back a few animals.
