On Tuesday State Senator James L. Seward met with representatives from the American Red Cross to discuss the organization’s emergency preparedness programs and disaster response initiatives. Last year’s state budget provided the Red Cross with $3.3 million in funding which accounts for 6.4 percent of the total Red Cross budget in New York State. Seward said when families and entire communities have nowhere else to turn local Red Cross volunteers are there to help and he is proud to assist them in their life saving efforts.
