An Andes grandmother and 5 of her grandchildren are now facing charges for stealing a neighbor's tractor then dismantling it. According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s office 61-year-old Kathleen Shaffer's grandkids ages 11,12,13,14 and 17 broke into a shed on a seasonal property at a Shaver Hollow Road last month and took the tractor. It was then driven to Shaffer’s residence where she allowed the kids to take it apart.

Shaffer and the children are all free on their own recognizance. Shaffer has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree. A seventeen-year old adolescent offender was also arrested and charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree. The four juveniles were all released but must appear at the Delaware County Probation Department on a later date to answer their charges.
