Deposit Resort Featured In ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Is Sold
Do you remember back in 2018, when there was a call for people from the Binghamton area to audition for roles as extras and background actors for the series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel?
I knew several people who auditioned and got parts to be a part of something special. We couldn't wait until the show appeared on Amazon so we could try and find our friends on the show.
The reason that they were filming in our area was that they were featuring the Scott's Family Resort on Oquaga Lake in Deposit in the show. The Catskills resort has been around for over 150 years and run by the Scott family.
In October 2020, we learned that the resort was up for sale and put up for auction and at the time, it didn't meet the reserve. We were wondering what might happen next? Now we know.
Geragos Global bought the Scott's Family Resort on Friday, January 8th. Six generations of the Scott family ran the resort and it was the first time it had been sold since it opened in 1869.
The purchase price is not known at this time. So what's next? Geragos Global began by doing a $15 million renovation and will also renovate the 18-hole golf course with the help of a professional golf celebrity.
They also plan on constructing waterfront cottages by the lake and turning it into a year-round destination for everyone.
Check out the gallery below to see what the Scott's Family Resort looked like before the sale. We can't wait to see what happens next to this beautiful resort that's only 30 miles away from Binghamton.
